big things from small beginnings
About Me
I am married and have 3 children, Ami 21, Billy 13 and Louis 10. I have been childminding since 2002. I find childminding very rewarding and feel as a mum I have lots of experience to use in childminding. My home is a caring, safe and stimulating environment giving your child lots of opportunity to have fun and learn through play. My whole house is registered for childminding and I have a toy room and a large garden. I live near to the local park.
I have been CRB checked as has anyone over 16 in my household.
I provide a flexible and personal service that meets the individual needs of your child.
I am also an accredited childminder which means I can take Government funding for 3&4 yr olds, alongside the pre-schools. I can help your child meet their Early Learning Goals. This can give your child up to 5 free 2 ½ hr sessions a week and the hours are increasing.
I believe children should be helped to develop confidence and independence, most of which is learnt through play and daily routines. I believe in showing children respect and in return they learn respect for others which helps them throughout their lives, whether at pre-school, school, work or in later life.
I have references available for you to read. My home is non-smoking and I have fish and rabbits as pets.
I am a member of the National Childminding Association (NCMA). The NCMA believes every child should reach their full potential. They work with registered childminders and nannies, support. I am also a member of the ‘Castle Point and Rochford, Children Come First Childminding Network’ which shows that I am consistently providing care above the Standards set by Ofsted

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) . This means parents can be confident that all services which are provided for children aged from birth to the 31 August following their fifth birthday (such as by childminders), will be inspected against common standards in care and early education.
I have undertaken training in the Early Years Foundation Stage training (EYFS), which will help me help your children in their development and learning, this also links into the Development Matters as the children develop. I have the words that link to the Oxford Reading Tree and once your child is at an age to learn these words I will introduce them gradually alongside what Rayleigh Primary School do. I do keep records of the children which are confidential and you can see them if you ask me.

I am registered with the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted). Ofsted inspects and regulates to achieve excellence in the care of children and young people, and in education and skills for learners of all ages. My report is available on-line. In my last inspection I achieved a Good Overall. It is about 8 pages long and the full version can be viewed upon request. However, a brief summary can be found here.
